The Finger Lakes Wrestling Club (FLWC) will be taking their training camps on the road to G2 Wrestling Academy May 7-8. The two-day “International Style” training camp will feature numerous state champions and place winners from across the country.
“Our new mini training camp series have been a huge success,” said FLWC Director Kris Harrington. “The competition has been intense. The camps have served as an opportunity to gain a great deal of experience in a very short period of time.
The May training camp will focus on Freestyle and Greco-Roman style wrestling. Our goal is to help prepare wrestlers for the summer Freestyle and Greco-Roman style wrestling tournament.
The camp, which will be held May 7-8 at G2 Wrestling Academy (Rochester), and is quickly filling up. Attendance is set to include New York’s standouts Yianni Diakomihalis, Theo Powers, Evan Barczak and Jack Buell as well as nationally-ranked out of state wrestlers Ben Darmstadt, David Carr, and Brian Courtney
Members of the Cornell wrestling team will serve as counselors, while Finger Lakes Wrestling Club coaches Enock Francois, Nate Carr Jr., Mike Nevinger and Kris Harrington will be among those leading the training sessions.
And this time, there will be two major additions in the mix. Finger Lakes Wrestling Club's Olympic staff 3X Iranian Olympian Ahad Javansalehi and former World Champion Vougar Oroudjov will be there looking to work with future olympic prospects.
